Research focuses on the role of medical imaging in healthcare problems that are relevant to Africa. These include trauma, cancer, tuberculosis, cardiac disease, brain disorders, acquired immune deficiency syndrome (AIDS), neuromuscular disorders and alcohol abuse. Research and coursework in medical imaging may be done at the postgraduate level as part of a degree in Biomedical Engineering.
